Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia | | Piedmont Triad Area Alumni Association

Association History

After memorial day in 2015, the brothers of the triad region thought it would be a wonderful idea to form a gathering encompassing food and fellowship. After much preparation the “Tri-Beta Cookout” was planned by the brothers of the Piedmont-Triad Region. On July 25, 2015, we embarked to Gibson Park and enjoyed food and fraternal fellowship. We also had musical guest from various chapters of Phi Mu Alpha. Afterward the alumni stayed and reminisced on life as a collegiate member. The question was posed, “What more can we do to advance music in America after collegiate life?”. The consensus gathered and the next step was an Alumni Association. Through social media we gathered brothers interest. Our first general body meeting was held on August 30, 2015 in Frazier Hall onto the campus of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Thirteen brothers were in attendance. Our interest mixer was held on September 27, 2015 at Hutch and Harris in Winston-Salem, NC. We also hosted a “Ugly Sweater Party”, the home of brother Gary M. Bryant. By the time everyone stood up from the table, the initial group decided that they were convinced that sufficient evidence had been presented to proceed with chartering an alumni association. After months of hard work and dedication of the charter members of our alumni association interest group we were able to create the Piedmont Triad Area Alumni Association of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
